Premier League Top Scorers 2025-26: Golden Boot Race
The Premier League Golden Boot race is one of the most exciting individual battles in football. This season, it's a two-horse race between Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak, with a few dark horses lurking behind them.
The top 10
1. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) β 22 goals
Haaland is a goal-scoring machine. He's on pace for 30+ league goals, which would make it three consecutive seasons above 30. His movement in the box is the best in the world, and his finishing is ruthless. He's scored 5 headers, 4 from outside the box, and 13 from inside the six-yard box. He's the ultimate poacher.
2. Alexander Isak (Newcastle) β 18 goals
Isak has been Newcastle's best player this season. He's a different type of striker to Haaland β more involved in build-up play, better at dribbling, and more versatile. He's scored from open play, free kicks, and penalties. If Newcastle finish in the top 4, Isak will deserve a lot of the credit.
3. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) β 15 goals
Saka scoring 15 goals from the right wing is remarkable. He's not a traditional striker, but his ability to cut inside and shoot with his left foot is almost unstoppable. He's also got 11 assists, making him the most productive player in the league overall.
4. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) β 14 goals
Salah is 33 and still scoring at an elite rate. His contract situation has been the story of the season β is he staying or leaving? β but on the pitch, he's been as good as ever. His goal-per-minute ratio is actually better than last season.
5. Cole Palmer (Chelsea) β 13 goals
Palmer's second season at Chelsea has been even better than his first. He's the creative hub of Chelsea's attack, and his ability to score from free kicks and penalties adds to his tally. He's only 23, and he's already one of the best players in the league.
6-10: Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa, 12), Phil Foden (Manchester City, 11), Son Heung-min (Tottenham, 11), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United, 10), Dominic Solanke (Tottenham, 10).
Who will win the Golden Boot?
Haaland. He's 4 goals clear with 10 games to play, and he tends to score in bunches β he'll have a quiet game or two, then score a hat-trick. Isak is the only realistic challenger, but he'd need Haaland to have a significant dry spell.
The record for most Premier League goals in a season is 36, set by Haaland in 2022-23. He's currently on 22 with 10 games left, so he'd need 15 goals in 10 games to break his own record. It's unlikely, but with Haaland, you never say never.
The assist race
While we're talking about individual awards, the assist race is worth mentioning. Kevin De Bruyne leads with 14 assists, followed by Saka (11) and Palmer (10). De Bruyne's passing is still the best in the league, and a healthy De Bruyne is the biggest reason City are in the title race.
